Sunrise in the morning from the room.
Sitting on the balcony in the morning
We visited the Bundaberg Rum Distillery. The smell of the sugar cane was so nice as we drove in to the distillery. The only disappointing thing was the price of the tour, which would have added up to a bottle of rum for the two of us, and the price of the souvenirs...not much we could afford!

The next stop was the place I had been waiting for...the Barrel! The shop next to the ginger beer factory! Let me in, let me in!

Having fun in the museum.
Half an hour from town was the town of Childers. There were so many beautiful old pubs there. We went there to visit the Apothecary that has been there for yonks...but everything was closed! boo hoo...
The end of another day....

Moving

It's been a while since I updated my blog...and if you read below you will understand why...once things have settled down I will be back on here with more updates and pictures!

Merry Christmas! Well, here is the news you have been waiting for...we have finally made the decision to leave Japan and join our family in Australia. I took Ken back to Brisbane last August and left him there for 2 months to attend school. My cousin Carolyn brought him back to Japan for us near the end of September. Ken has been really unhappy at school in Japan and when he joined the class at Currimundi School he just flourished. He learned to love school and made lots of friends. When he came back to Japan he became depressed and started to refuse to go to school, so we made the decision to enrol them at school in Australia for 2009. The kids and I will be leaving Japan on February 10th 2009. Carolyn has made a place for us on her large property and we are really looking forward to starting our new lives there. We are applying for Shibby’s Permanent Residence Visa and he will follow in 2010. There are lots of things to do in packing up the house and saying goodbyes, but we are moving forward towards our dream of a life near family in Australia. Shibby will remain at our present address for a while in Japan, so any correspondence there will be received. If you wish to contact me and the kids, we will be at 2 Fin Court

Elimbah 4516, QLD, Australia.

My email address will remain the same: reneeshibuya@yahoo.co.jp

This will be the last Christmas in Japan so we will be making the most of it.

Hope to catch up with all of you soon!

Lots of love, Renee xox
