Walkin' the baby

It was finally warm enough to go outside, so we took the dog and the baby for a 'walk'. Chester (the dog) needs lessons on how to 'walk', because as soon as we take him out of the stroller he refuses to move! Jordan (the baby) on the other hand had great plans to teach him!

Treated to Lunch....again!!

My Dance Teacher Sayuri shouted me to lunch at an all-you-can-eat Deep Fry Restaurant.There was a large selection of different kinds of meat, seafood and vegetables. You choose your own plate, then dip them in the batter, then breadcrumbs.

You then deep fry them in the vat on your table until ready

Valentines Day

Valentines Day in Japan is a little different from home. Here the women are supposed to give the men chocolates. They also have something called, 'Giri Choco', which are gifts given to men who are your bosses. Obviously, these gifts don't have a romantic meaning attached, and the catch is that the men have to give back chocolates on the 14th of March on a day called 'White Day' in exchange! My husband is a non-traditionalist (after much training by me!), and brought home a bunch of beautiful flowers for me!! This is a shot of one of the tulips. Happy Valentines Day!!

A Day at the Park

The sun finally came out so we could go to the park and enjoy some fresh air!



This is a park that is near our house. It has some lovely walks and a beautiful view.

The Kids' Dance Show Feb 9th

The kids danced at Hashimoto Civic Hall, for the Sign Language Awareness Conference. They really enjoy their dance!

Treated to Lunch...

On Friday, Rebecca shouted me to lunch at a Macrobiotic restaurant. This particular day was not their macrobiotic menu day, but the food was all organic and looked very healthy. I had never had it before and didn't honestly know what it was...! But it tasted great!


I work with Rebecca and Anne-Marie, and they have been such a help to me in my new job. They are wonderful people and a pleasure to work with. I actually have a lot of fun! What a great job I have. The first year is over...and I survived! I didn't get sick once, which is good for me...
I just have marking and grading left, then it's another year all over again!

The restaurant had a natural Japanese feel to it and was very cosy.

This was a chicken hamburger....with a twist. I'm not sure what was in it, but I could taste gobo (burdock root) and renkon (lotus root)... I think it had a daikon (Japanese radish) sauce..?? It was very very good!

This rice was different. It had brown rice and other stuff in it. Very tasty.

The desert was different. The 'cake' was like a whole grain muffin type bread, and had an Aojiru (green vege powder??) cream in it. It was really nice!

On the way to lunch... I know I shouldn't 'shoot' and drive...but it was so beautiful I had to take some shots..there is nowhere to stop on the road I took them otherwise I would have!

White Winter

There's nothing better than waking up to a white neighbourhood. It falls so still in the night and blankets everything so softly.
