Erinn's Birthday...Happy Birthday Erinn!!!

It was Erinn's birthday last Wednesday so Patti and I took her to Diamond City for some shopping and lunch. I made a Yoghurt and Pineapple Tart for dessert later at Patti's house.
Beautiful Erinn!!

This is her, 'you girls are sweet', face...
The best part of the day...but I was mean and made her get up because my sons were coming home.....'Just a little longer Renee!!'.....

Hookie

Shibby played hookie from work...actually, he had to take Jo to the hospital...but it was nice to have him home for a change. We went for a drive without the kids and enjoyed the spring weather.

The tree in the front yard

This is the tree in front of our house. We have two in our back garden too. They are a beautiful shade tree in summer, and in spring they have the most beautiful flowers, shaped like tiny bells that cover the whole tree. It's called a Egonoki in Japanese, or a Styrax Japonica. I didn't have time on the 'sunny' days to get a good picture, so they are a bit rushed, but you should get some idea as to how beautiful they are.

Mother's Day

The kids are finally catching on to the idea of Mother's Day! I had a great day. Unfortunately, Ken was sick, so we couldn't go to church that morning, but I stayed home and got to relax instead. Jo gave me a massage in the morning (sooo good!), and I got a bottle of wine from both of them...yeah! In the afternoon they took me out for cake, yum yum! The cakes in Japan are superb! Not too sweet, with all natural ingredients. It was too hard to choose so they bought me two! hehe. Then they hired a movie....something we never get a chance to do...and had a special family night. So I felt very special on this Mother's Day!!

Out fishing

We went to the river near our house for a little fishing! 'Little' being the operative word. We caught 3 baby fish, and took them home for the fish bowl. They are useful for eating all the algae off the side of the bowl, but these feisty fish jumped right out of the bowl during the night and ended up on the pavement!Julia and Jo...before the lines got tangled..hehe

Flower Power

During Golden Week, we went to the Kawachinagano Garden Centre. It was my first time there, so I didn't realise how big it was! There was a nice grassed area for the kids to play, and lots of walking paths. The flower gardens were so beautiful!A field of poppies

Deep purple pansies
The Pansy field
Tulips...my favourite!

More Wisteria Wow!!!

We couldn't resist!! We just had to go back one more time. The flowers are past full bloom now, but still very beautiful. The pictures taken in the next post were taken 4 days before this.

My mother-in-law came to stay so we took her to see the beautiful flowers

A trip isn't complete without the convertible.....
